She was an American actress, born on February 23, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA, as Bernice Siegel. She has been in theater since the 1940s and has entered the world of cinema and television since the mid-1960s. She has performed in Broadway musicals, most notably in the role of the Marx Brothers' mother in the musical Minnie's Boys. She is known for Re-Animator (1985), From Beyond (1986), and The Last Starfighter (1984). She died at the age of 86 on September 9, 2010 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.
