• A German actor and writer, born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. He was raised in Strasbourg and Badenweiler. Starting in 1946, he held a position as a drama instructor at the...Read more recently established Otto Falckenberg Schule. He worked as a cast member at the Wiener Burgtheater from 1961 until 1962. His screen debut was in Das Geheimnis der roten Katze (1949). He is known for Mistress of the World (1960), The Secret Ways (1961), and The Black Abbot (1963). His last appearance was in Die Unberührbare (2000). He received an Honorary Award at the German Film Awards in 1989. He was married to Sonja Ziemann and Pamela Wedekind. He died from a stroke on September 13, 2001, in Bad Wiessee, Germany.
