• He was a German actor and writer, born in Freiburg, Breisgau, Germany. He was raised in Strasbourg and Badenweiler. He held a position as a theater instructor at the recently...Read more established Otto-Falckenberg-Schule. He worked as a cast member at the Wiener Burgtheater from 1961 until 1962. His debut was in Das Geheimnis der roten Katze (1949). He is known for Mistress of the World (1960), The Secret Ways (1961), and The Black Abbot (1963). His last appearance was in Die Unberührbare (2000). He received a German Film Honorary award in 1989 and a German Critics Association Award. He was married to Sonja Ziemann and Pamela Wedekind.He died from a stroke on September 13, 2001, in Bad Wiessee, Germany.
