An Australian actor, born in Sydney, Australia. His debut was in Fourth Liberty Loan: I Had a Son (1943). His notable works include On the Beach (1959), Pacific Adventure (1946), and Dynasty (1970). His last appearance was in The Autobiography of a Flea (1976). He was married twice, one of which was to Neva Carr-Glynn, and had four children, including actor Nick Tate. He died on March 19, 1979, in England, UK.
