He was a Belgian actor and director, born in Brussels, Belgium. He attended the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He was the director of the Théâtre de l'Oeuvre, in Paris. He is the father of Fabrice Rouleau and Philippe Rouleau. His debut as an actor was L'Argent (1928), and his directorial debut was Suzanne (1932). His credits include Les amants de Teruel (1962), Paris Frills (1945), and The Messenger (1937). He was married to Françoise Rouleau, Françoise Lugagne, and Tania Balachova, and he had two children. He died on December 11, 1981, in Paris, France, of cancer.
