A French stage, film and television actor, writer and director, born in Fontenay-sous-Bois, Val-de-Marne, France. Among his notable works are Le bluffer (1932), Signe illisible (1942) and Jewel Robbery (1932). He was a veteran actor from the silent era of cinema and he caught up with the sound era. His parents worked in the Comédie Française of which he became a member, and his daughter was actress Rosine Luguet. He died in Cannes, Alpes-Maritime, France on May 24, 1979, at age 87.
