An American film and television actress, born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA, as Bertie Mae Johnson. She married Joseph Thatcher Leighton (1941-2005), they had three children, and she remained with him until his death. Among her most important works are The Haunted Mine (1946), Jungle Goddess (1948), Brick Bradford (1947), and The Cisco Kid (1950). He died in Monarch Beach, California, USA, on December 26, 2005, of congestive heart failure at the age of 88.
