A British film actress, born in Kew, Surrey, England, United Kingdom. She had a major career in America, on Broadway (1914-1934) and in cinema beginning in the silent era. She continued to work after the introduction of sound until the mid-fifties, and played the roles of maids, widows, mothers, wives, and party guests. In 1905, she married Capt. Harry Lambart, and they had a child, who remained with her until he died. Among her credits are Belonging (1922), Night Must Fall (1937), and New Moon (1940). She died in Evanston, Illinois, USA, on April 18, 1972, at age 92.
