An American actor, born in Dayton, Ohio, United States. He married actress Virginia Carroll and they had one child. In the early 1930s, he performed with a dance orchestra after starting his career as a singer in a church. He also sang and danced in stage shows at the Hayden Theater and with Hollywood stock companies. He was enlisted into the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. Some of his most notable works include Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome (1947), SOS Coast Guard (1937), The Jungle Book (1942), and Dick Tracy (1950-1952). He passed away in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California, United States, from a heart attack, at the age of 43.
