He wrote plays, screenplays, poetry, and literature. He obtained a doctorate in philosophy and literature from the University of Tübingen after studying philosophy and law in Munich. After the Reichstag fire in 1933, he worked as a writer and novelist until the government oppressed him due to his Jewish origin, compelling him to flee Nazi Germany. Before immigrating to the US in 1937, he and his family spent four years in Austria and England. Many of his plays, books, and stories have been made into movies and TV shows, and he has also written scripts. In addition, he wrote a lot of books and novels. He died of heart illness on June 20, 1945, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.
