An Italian-American actor, born in San Fili, Basilicata, Italy, as Michael Giuseppe Pellegrino. His credits include A Bell for Adano (1945), The Beast with Five Fingers (1946), It's a Wonderful Life (1946), and The Lost Moment (1947). William worked on stage and screen and played roles with heavy accents such as those of Spaniards, Mexicans, French, Gypsies, and Arabs, and he is particularly remembered for his Italian roles. Edmunds immigrated with his parents and siblings to the United States of America in 1897, then became an actor on the New York stage, and he presented many plays on Broadway. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA on December 7, 1981, at the age of 95.
