A German actress, director, and screenwriter. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany. She began her artistic career through the theater and acted in many different works in both cinema and television drama, most notably Heldinnen (1960), Das Wunder des Malachias (1961), and Der...Read more Andro-Jäger (1982-1984). She also wrote and directed several short films and television movies. In 1971, she was a member of the jury at the 21st Berlin International Film Festival. She married the producer and screenwriter Harry R. Sokal, but the marriage ended in divorce. She later married the renowned German writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt in 1984 and remained with him until his death in 1990. She passed away on December 28, 2011, in Bern, Switzerland.
