He was an Armenian-British writer, born in Ruse, Bulgaria. His first story adopted into a movie was The Dancer of Paris (1926). He is known for Outcast Lady (1934), A Woman of Affairs (1928), and The Falcon Takes Over (1942). His last work, Le Chapeau (2011), was adopted from his book "The Green Hat." He died at the age of 60 on June 23, 1956, in New York, USA.
