An Iranian filmmaker and actress, born in Tehran. She was the widow of the late theater director Hamid Samandarian. Following her graduation from the Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest with a degree in theater, she started her artistic career in 1971. She was nominated for the Crystal Simorgh at the Fajr Film Festival for her role in From Karkheh to Rhein (1993), which was one of her most well-received performances. Her other notable works include Little Bird of Happiness (1988), Two Fellow Travelers (1991), and All the Temptations of the Earth (1989). She passed away from cancer on September 26, 2015, in a hospital in Los Angeles, California, USA. Her body was later transferred to Iran and buried in Tehran beside the grave of her husband.
