He was an Australian actor born in Melbourne, Australia. He began his acting career in the silent film era and appeared in more than 600 screen productions. His debut was in Sally Scraggs: Housemaid (1913). He is known for Rollin' Plains (1938), Lure of the Wasteland (1939), and Starlight Over Texas (1938). His last appearance was in Have Gun - Will Travel (1961-1962). In 1960, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He died at the age of 72 on January 19, 1962, in California, USA.
