An Australian actor, director, and writer, born in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. He started performing at a young age and worked as an acrobat and dancer. In 1919, he moved to the United States, where he made his Broadway debut in the Ziegfeld Follies. Among his early screen roles is the one in the short film Kiss Me Quick (1920). His notable works include Sunny (1930), Barbed Wire (1927), and Barbary Coast (1935). His last role was in Donovan's Reef (1963). He got married twice and had one child. Clyde Cook died of arteriosclerosis on August 13, 1984, in Carpinteria, California, USA.
