He was an American actor, born in Oregon, USA, as William Harris Ruhl. He was a prolific American actor in the thirties and forties, and he worked in cinema and television. He is known for Impact (1949), Song of My Heart (1948), and Crashing Through Danger (1936). He was married to actress Lu Miller. He died on March 12, 1956, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, of complications from a perforated ulcer, at the age of 54.
