A Canadian actress, director, and producer, born in Halifax, Canada. She received a BA in Acting from Dalhousie University and an MFA in Directing from the University of British Columbia. She made her debut in Paint Cans (1994). Her notable works include Medic (2016), The Company You Keep (2012), and The Unforgivable (2021). In 2010, she won a Leo Award for Best Screenwriting in a Short Drama for No One Knows You Like Your Mother. She married David Richmond-Peck, with whom she has one child, Piper Mercier.
