A British film and television actor, born in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, UK. He was a firefighter in Chelsea during World War II. He worked as a taxi driver between filming jobs and he often played the roles of a taxi driver in films. He married Emily Sadler (1934-1982), they had a child, and she remained with him until her death. Among his notable works are The Chastity Belt (1972), Hell Below Zero (1954), and Carry on Nurse (1959). He died in London, England, UK on August 27, 1994, at age 82.
