A British film and television actor, born in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, UK. He was a firefighter in Chelsea during World War II. He worked as a taxi driver between filming jobs and he often played the roles of a taxi driver in films. He married Emily Sadler (1934-1982), they had a child, and she remained with him until her death. Among his notable works are ‏The Chastity Belt (1972), ‏Hell Below Zero (1954), and ‏Carry on Nurse (1959). He died in London, England, UK on August 27, 1994, at age 82.
