An American actor, born as Patrick Douglas Conway in Los Angeles, California, USA. He was a real cowboy who grew up on his father's farm and learned horsemanship and cattle care before he was ten. After graduating from Menlo Junior College in San Francisco, he studied acting at the Pasadena Playhouse, then traveled to London to study Shakespeare Theater at the Old Vic. He then served in the US Marine Corps before returning to Hollywood, signing with MGM in the early fifties, and playing many roles in cinema and television. He was married twice and had one child. Among his notable works are Tombstone Territory (1957-1960), Destination 60,000 (1957), and Above and Beyond (1952). He died of renal failure and dehydration in Santa Barbara, California, USA, on April 24, 1981, at the age of 50.
