An American actor of Swedish-American ancestry, born in Marysville, California, USA as Elmer Bradley Johnson. He graduated from the University of Southern California, served in the US Air Force during World War II, then began acting in live theater. He was then attracted by cinema and played various roles in film and then on television. When his career diminished, he refused to work in Europe in Westerns, preferring to work in real estate. He married actress Amanda Webb (1950-1981), they had two children, and she stayed with him until his death. He's known for Zane Gray Theatre (1959), Bedtime For Bonzo (1951), and The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp (1957-1958). He died in Burbank, California, USA, on April 4, 1981, at age 56.
