A Chinese novelist and short story writer, born as Guan Moye in Gaomi, Shandong, China. He is better known by the pen name Mo Yan. He earned a master's degree in literature from Beijing Normal University. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2012. He's known for Red Sorghum (1988) and Happy Times (2000).
