An American stunt actor and performer in film and television. He was born in San Luis Obispo, California, USA. During World War II, he flew with the US Air Force and was shot down over France, earning him the Purple Heart. Prior to entering the film industry, he had a busy career in sports, coaching baseball teams and playing professionally in the Canadian Football League. He is known for Cape Fear (1962), 1941 (1979), and Tough Enough (1983). He died at the age of 96 on May 12, 2013 in Vineland, New Jersey, USA.
