American actor, born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was married to Lael Rose Smit, they had two children, and she remained with him until she died in 1992. He is also the younger brother of comedian Jerry Lester, and they worked together in Chicago theaters. Lester served in the US Navy during World War II and worked in many nightclubs in addition to his work in radio, theater, and cinema. He participated in many artistic works, including Ocean's Eleven (1966) and The Party (1968).
