American film and television actress, born in Washington, D.C., United States of America. She was married to the writer, director, and producer Leon D’Usseau, and they had four children. He remained with her until he died in 1963. Among her most important works are Four Star Theater (1952), Becky Sharp (1935), Television Spy (1939), and Bewitched (1967). She provided the roles of nurses, nannies, housekeepers, spinsters, widows, teachers, gossips, old ladies, saleswomen, and nuns. She died in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States on February 27, 1972, at the age of 82.
