French film and television actor, born in Surdeval, Manche, France. Among his most important works are Le Comte de Monte Cristo (1961), Shock Troops (1967), Rififi (1955), and Knock (1951). He died in Grenville-sur-Odon, Calvados, France, on June 7, 1997, at the age of 89 years.
