A British actor and theater director, born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, UK. He played many roles in British cinema and played the role of a waiter in most of his works. In 1968, Garner traveled to South Africa to join the Academy Theatre until 1974 and worked in South African cinema and television. In 1979, he joined Pieter Toerien in acting and directing plays until 1999, when he returned to the United Kingdom to pursue his work in cinema and television. He was previously married to actress Tammy Bonell (1974-2003) and they had seven children. Garner was named Best Actor in 1983 at the Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards in South Africa. Among his notable works are The Wednesday Play (1964), Shadow Squad (1957) and Survivor (1987). He died in Havant, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom on May 17, 2015, at age 94.
