A British theater, radio, film, and television actor, born in Hackney, London, England, United Kingdom in 1938. Desmond McNamara married Pam Bentley (1961-2022), they had two children, and she remained with him until his death. Among his most important works are The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1984), Shakespeare in Love (1998), Traveling Man (1984), and Hazell (1978). He graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and worked in London theaters. He served in the British Royal Air Force before becoming a printer. Desmond McNamara died in 2022 from a lung infection at the age of 84.
