A German actress, singer, and dancer, born in Nerchau, Saxony, Germany. Among her most important works are Gräfin Mariza (1958), Erik the Conqueror (1961), and La Paloma (1959). Ellen Kessler worked in theater, film, and television along with her twin, Alice Kessler. She performed in a show with her twin sister at the famous theater Le Lido in Paris (1955-1960). Ellen Kessler received the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande, Germany's highest order, in 1987. She has lived with her sister Alice in Grünwald, near Munich.
