A British actor, born in Southport, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. He was married twice and had two children. Among his most important works are The Luck of the Irish (1936), Irish and Proud of It (1938), Devil’s Rock (1938), and Landslide (1937). Richard Hayward was also a writer, musician, composer, singer, and producer. He worked in the theater and participated in founding the Belfast Repertory Theatre Company. He was a popular singer in the 1940s and 1950s and wrote many books about Ireland. Richard Hayward died in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, following a road accident at the age of 71.
