Reports have been circled over the past two days concerning the release of a new album by renowned Lebanese singer Fairouz. The album is titled “Eih fee Amal” and contains 12 songs, amongst which are “Allah Kabeer”, “Eih fee Amal”, “Ya Salam A’la Boukra” and “Ma’ak”. Lebanese composer Ziad Rahbany had mentioned six months ago that his mother Fairouz’s latest album will be released in two weeks time. However, the album is yet to be released. A notice featured on the Kuwaity newspaper “Al Raiiy” has indicated that the album will be released very soon – in fact the album is already being promoted by allowing customers to listen to the album’s songs via the Etisalat network. Ziad Al Rahbany had announced from Cairo during his first visit there in mid March 2010 that the album features, for the first time, compositions credited to his family “Al Rahbanieh” and that the compositions are distributed throughout the album in a special manner. Moreover, he has also added that those compositions are “translations” of previous compositions credited to Chopin and other great composer but that they nonetheless sound like modern compositions. Ziad has also announced that the renowned musician known as “Garat Al Qamar” will hold two concerts at the “Al Bayal” theater in the Lebanese capital Beirut on the seventh and eighth of the upcoming month.
