The administration of the “Al Mehwar” channel is preparing to launch their second channel at the start of the coming month of January. This comes after the requisite security permits have been attained – something which caused the delay of the previously intended launch date that was to occur around the start of the previous month of Ramadan. It was planned that the channel woulf be launched for a period of transmission testing so that actual transmission could begin with the first days of Eid.The attainment of security clearances is ongoing after having revised the planned content, announcers and programs in addition to other technical matters. The staff at the channel are undergoing a period of intense activity under the leadership of the channel’s president, director Yahya Mumtaz, who has been leading the latest modernization drive witnessed at the channel. The drive was not limited to updating the channel’s features as what occurred in the month of May as the last few days have also witnessed an upgrade with regards to the channel’s appearance and content.It should be noted that Al Mehwar 2 channel will be staffed with several presenters from Al Mehwar 1, those are Mohamed Nasser, Shereef Madkour and Rabab Hussein. Moreover, the new channel will also host several young presenters.
