Egyptian documentary film “Ihzar Al Woqouf Mutakarir” is partaking in the first Pyongyang International Film Festival which has gone underway several days prior in the North Korean capital. The film is the only Egyptian work featured at the festival. “Ihzar Al Woqouf Mutakarir” is a 2009 Al Jazeera Documentary Channel production that was written, directed and produced by Egyptian filmmaker Ayman Al Gazawy and Italian director Christina Pocalini. The pair also assumed other tasks such as montage.The film’s musical score is credited to Andrea Panody and the production has been translated in to English and Italian. Moreover, the title has so far received the creativity award at the American Accolade Awards in addition to the award for the freedom and human rights category at the 6th Al Jazeera Documentary Film Festival. However, according to director Ayman Al Jazwy the production has thus far not been featured at any Egyptian film festival despite the fact that it discusses an authentically Egyptian problem.
