Youssef Sha’aban Assumes the Character of Abu Sufyan Bin Harb

Actor Youssef Sha’aban has joined the list of performers who will be acting in the new television series “Al Shaymaa Qitharat Al Samaa”. For his part in the show, Sha’aban will be assuming the role of Aby Sufyan Sakhr bin Harb bin Ummaya, father of Umm Habiba who became a wife of the prophet peace be upon him after her husband passed away.Youssef has stated that he is glad to have been nominated for the role due to the fact that the character of Aby Sufyan is in his opinion a colorful one which underwent momentous changes throughout his life. In this regard he has cited the historical occasion when Aby Sufyan was leading a caravan that the Muslims planned to ambush, Aby Sufyan changed the caravan’s route and arrived safely at Mecca while a Meccan army was defeated by the Muslims at Badr. Youssef added further that there was another phase to the character’s life, that being when Aby Sufyan embraced Islam following the conquest of Mecca. Thereby Youssef asserts that his character is characterized by a rich history that would satisfy any performer wishing to assume the role. Youssef further adds that that is the sort of character he seeks. Moreoverm he has described E’ssam Sha’aban as a distinguished director assuming a massive task. Youssef describes the screenplay that was prepared by Muhyy Al Deen Mar’ay as excellent, noting that it is packed with clever dialogue.
