Samira Ahmed Joins the Al Wafd Party

Actress Samira Ahmed paid a visit to the Al Wafd party headquarters on noon Saturday, the 25th of September. While at the headquarters, Samira registered her name as an Al Wafd party member in the presence of Dr. el-Sayyid el-Badawy, president of the Al Wafd party.In a statement following her joining the party’s ranks, Samira declared that she took the decision to join the party following the new line adopted by the party’s leader Dr. el-Sayyid el-Badawy, a line which she says has postured the party into a sound nationalistic footing.Samira further added that the Al Wafd party has historically been concerned with issues that affect citizens and the country as a whole. She also added that she thereby intends to lend her services to the ordinary citizen - women in particular - through her participation as an Al Wafd party member.
