During an interview at the Cairo Film Festival, Safeya announced that her latest project would be a light comedy, which she has never done before. The movie is directed by Mariam Abou Ouf, written by Karim Fahmy and Hisham Maged, starring Asser Yassin, Minna Shalaby, Ezzat Abou Ouf, and a cameo appreance by director Mohamed Khan. The story is about a half-African, half-Egyptian Bashir and his relationship to his girlfriend Bibo. Her last film before Bibo was "Those were the Days" based on the novel by the author Fathy Ghanim, which opened March 2010. Before that time, she was on hiatus for 15 years since the film "Women's Threshold."
