Khaled ElSawy Denies a Connection Between his “Gangster” and Salah Abou Seif’s

Khaled ElSawy’s recently released TV series “The Gangster” has nothing to do with Abou Seif’s film by the same name. The series depicts the story of real life gangster Yousef Elzeiny who lived in the 1920’s and was a kind of ‘Robin Hood’ character who take care of the poor and weak. The film on the other hand, which starred Farid Shawky and Zaky Rostom, is about the gangsters of the vegetable market in Road elFarag before the revolution.
