Oprah Winfrey Breaks Records with Highest Amount of Charity Given

Talk show host and American celebrity Oprah Winfrey was recognized according to People magazine, as the person who has given the most amount of money to charity than any other person, living or dead, in the world. She has donated over 40 million dollars to charitable organizations, especially those focused on education, women and children and helping minority groups and natural disaster victims. In second place with 4.6 million dollars is writer Nora Roberts, and third place actress Meryl Streep at 4 million dollars through her foundation "Silver Mountain" for the arts.
