15 Oscar Nominees for the “Best Visual Effects” Category

The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has published a list of 15 films all of which have progressed to the semi-final stage in the run up to the Oscar for the Best Visual Effects category.The titles included in the list are “Alice in Wonderland”, “Narnia”, “Clash of the Titans”, “Hereafter”, “Inception”, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I”, “Iron Man 2”, “The Last Airbender”, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”, “Scott Pilgrim vs the World”, “Shutter Island”, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, “Tron: Legacy” and “Unstoppable”.The committee will narrow down the list to 7 films by January with the final nominees being announced on the 25th of January at the Samuel Goldwyn theater. The Oscar award will be handed over to the winning entry on the 27th of February, 2011 at the Kodak theater in Hollywood.
