Tunisian Artist Firyal Youssif Rebuffs Claims that Egyptian Audiences are Annoyed at Her For Travelling to Algeria

Tunisian actress Firyal Youssif has rebuffed claims that Egyptian audiences are annoyed at her following her visit to Algeria to attend the Wahran Film Festival. Firyal has stressed that she is quite fond of Egypt and its people and does not expect that her visit to Egypt would lead to a rift between her and the Egyptian people. Firyal believes that this is more evident seeing that the rapprochement between the Algerian and Egyptian peoples has occurred quicker than would have been expected following events at the Omdurman soccer match.Firyal also drew attention to the fact that the performer Khaled Abu Al Nagga attended the same film festival where he participated with his film “Microphone”, something which she believes further confirms that Egyptian-Algerian relations have witnessed a thaw.
