After viewing “Al Shouq” (“The Passion”) for the last time this previous Monday, Dr. Sayyid Khittab, head of the regulatory authority, has agreed to commercial screenings of the title without any omissions. To this effect Dr. Khittab has added that the movie is one of a kind and presents a novel type of narrative structure that presents an acceptable image of working-class neighborhoods in Egypt. The official has also added that in the upcoming days he will view “Bonne Soiree” and “Al Wattar” (“The Chord”) as a necessary step to granting those works the go-ahead for public screening.
