In an interview with the newspaper al-Masry al-Youm, producer Mohamed al-Sobbky announced that his new film “Bonne Soiress” is completely devoid of any nude scenes. Moreover, al-Sobbky adds that he produced the work with a religious drive in order to demonstrate to viewers that sustenance and livelihood can be attained without having to recourse to immoral methods. The celebrated producer also responded to accusation that his film contains inappropriately explicit content by saying: “I have nothing to do with what people say because I live by the creed that if one abides by God’s law, one need not worry. I deal with God, not with the people.”Ahmed al-Sobbky moreover refuted claims that screenwriter Mahmoud Abou Zeid was angered by modifications which were made to the screenplay. Al-Sobbky has further indicated that he contacted Abou Zeid by telephone following the publication of his interview with al-Shorouq newspaper in which it was related that Abou Zeid was annoyed by changes made to the script and the addition of dance scenes which do not serve the plot. In that phone conversation al-Sobbky asserts that Abou Zeid has said that he was not angry and that the reporter which interviewed him has altered his statement.
