Following the barring of the title “Bentein min Masr” from being screened in Kuwait, A’bd al-Galil Hassan, media consultant for the al-A’rabiyah Company which has produced the work, has asserted that the barring of the film is an internal state matter which the company cannot interfere in. Hassan further added that this is something which occurs often in Egypt as well as the Regulatory Authority sometimes prohibits the screening of certain films produced outside of Egypt. Hassan also adds that this development does not affect the firm negatively in any way. On another note, the film’s director Mohamed Amin has indicated that he is quite annoyed at what has happened, he has also added that he never knew the film was being considered for screening in Kuwait to begin with. Amin was rather puzzled at the decision to bar the film from screening in Kuwait due to the fact that it does not contain any controversial scenes that could have lead to its prohibition.
