We’re all familiar with the works of al-Abanoudy who has enticed our imaginations in the past with such works as “al-Seera al-Hilaliyah” and “al-Mawt A’la al-Asphalt” (“Death on the Asphalt”).There is no doubt that al-Abanoudy is among the most important of Egyptian poets. For this reason everyone has expected him to have a say with regards to the revolution that has currently gripped Egypt.
