In a conclusion added to one of his latest songs about the revolution, musician Ahmed Mekky has issued a clear and unequivocal statement to the public:“If you go down to Tahrir Square you will find a small state within a state. A state where if someone bumps into you they apologize and if someone else wants to cut ahead of you they say ‘Pardon me’. A state where if someone wants to look at your national ID they say ‘Sorry, but we are forced to do this.’ You also often hear people saying ‘Take care, some ladies need to pass.’ Harassment is nowhere to be seen. When a Christian turns to pray the Muslim watches his back and when a Muslim prays the Christian does likewise. This is the Egypt we want.”
