Khaled el-Sawwy calls on Arab armies to come to the rescue of the Libyan people

Artist Khaled el-Sawwy has posted a note on his facebook page addressing Arab armies whereby he wrote: “I call on the armed forces of Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia to take immediate and effective measures to save Libya’s population, protect her citizens and to interdict an American intervention premised on the protection of civilians. I also call for the immediate dismissal of our foreign minister for his laggard response to the violence taking place in Libya.”Worthy of note is that Khaled el-Sawwy was prominent in the opposition to Egypt’s previous regime. He has led several demonstrations during the recent revolution which erupted on the 25th of January, including a demonstration by artists and filmmakers which was held on Thursday, the 9th of February.
