Famous talk-show host Oprah Winfrey has denied claims that she had announced that she would be presenting an episode of her celebrated show “OPERA” from Tahrir Square alongside a group of youths who took part in the 25th January revolution. This statement follows news which had been circulated recently claiming that Opera had accepted an invitation to come to Cairo from the minister of tourism Mounir Fakhry ‘Abd Al Nour who is a member of the caretaker government. The statements further claimed that Monuir’s invitation was for Oprah to present an episode from the heart of Tahrir Square which had witnessed the revolution and that the aim of the exercise was to stimulate tourism in Egypt.Oprah rebuffed the claim on her personal twitter account and explained “I am lying down in bed and I have been sick with influenza since the Oscar’s ceremony. I have heard many accounts about my travelling to Cairo to present an episode there… these accounts are untrue and I don’t have any plans to go there.”
