American actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, who is 94 years old, has left hospital and returned home after refusing to give doctors permission to amputate her left leg. Zsa Zsa Gabor’s spokesman John Blanchette has indicated to American news network CNN that doctors at the Reagan Medical Center had explained to the actress that her chances of survival if she declined having the amputation were 50 – 50. Nonetheless, Gabor still decided to proceed with that option. Gabor was taken to hospital last Wednesday after she had experienced problems with regards to blood circulation to her left leg.Gabor’s spokesman added that she had elected not to undergo surgery to amputate her leg and left for home with her husband Frederic von Anhalt. A large portion of Gabor’s right leg was amputated last January in order to remedy a blood clot and to avoid inflammation. It should be noted that Gabor has been hospitalized frequently since last July following her falling off her bed at home, something which had necessitated hip replacement surgery. Among Gabor’s most outstanding productions were “Moulin Rouge” (1952), “The Girl in the Kremlin” (1957) and “Touch of Evil” (1958). The actress had also made repeated television appearances in addition to acting on stage.
