Renowned British actress Elizabeth Taylor passed away today morning aged 78. The performer had spent the last two months in hospital after having suffered a heart attack.Taylor first realized fame after she had portrayed Egyptian queen Cleopatra in a 1963 cinema title which carried the same name.Elizabeth Taylor had distanced herself from the cinema industry for a period of about twenty years as her last work was the 1988 film titled “Young Toscanini”. Thereafter she had had minor appearances on television. Her final work was the 2001 television series “God, the Devil and Bob” to which she had contributed a voiced role.It should be noted that Taylor had received the Oscar award for best actress on two occasions, the first was for her role in the 1960 comedy picture “Butterfield 8” whereas the second time was for the 1966 Mike Nichols classic “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf?”
