For the first time in many years actor Yahya al-Fakhrany will be absent from screens this Ramadan. This revelation comes after it was disclosed that the filming of the actor’s new television title “Bawaqi Saleh”, a title which was written by Nasser ‘Abd Al Rahman and slated to be directed by Shady al-Fakhrany, will be delayed prior to the conclusion of film work. The decision comes due to the lack of stability across the Arab World and also due to the fact that the work needs revisions that require some time, more time than is available before the start of Ramadan. The work’s producer Mohamed Fawzy has stated to the al-Ahram Evening newspaper that al-Fakhrany’s salary was not the reason for the delay of the series. Thus he explained: “The series requires some revisions to the screenplay which will require some time. Moreover some scenes are supposed to be filmed in Arab countries which are currently witnessing violent confrontations in addition to lack of stability, countries such as Syria and Lybia.”The delay in the premier of the series marks artist Yahya al-Fakhrany’s first absence from television in Ramadan since 1998.
