Laila ‘Elwi absent from screens this Ramadan

Artist Laila ‘Elwi has decided to postpone filming the television series “Hikkayat bayn al-Sutoor” (“Between the Lines”) to next year due to the fact that it would be difficult to market such a production in the light of recent circumstances. Moreover the work’s scenes would have to be filmed at different locations across Egypt and the crew cannot undertake such a task at the moment due to the lack of stability. Thus Laila ‘Elwi will be absent from television dramas this upcoming month of Ramadan. The past two years had seen ‘Elwi present dramas which have met with critical and commercial success. Thus she had presented four installments of the “Hikkayat wa Bine’ishha” (“Tales that we Live Through”) series which were titled “Hala wa al-Mustakhaby” (“Hala and the Hidden One”), “Magnoon Laila”, “Captain ‘Aft” and “Fattat al-Leil” (“Girl of the Night”).
